Avaya Names Worldwide Channel Chief

Although Avaya recently announced plans to cut 400 jobs, the company announced Jeremy Butt has joined Avaya as vice president of worldwide channels. Butt will lead the company's channel sales organization developing strategies and programs for more than 3,400 systems integrators, service providers, distributors, VARs and solutions providers.

"As Avaya brings tighter focus to its core businesses of unified communications and contact center, it will be critical for us to scale our global channel programs to meet our growth objectives; Jeremy is a world-class channel leader with the global expertise to execute our channel centric go-to-market," said Todd Abbott, senior vice president global sales, Avaya.

Butt recently served as vice president of worldwide channels for Motorola’s enterprise mobility business, and has also held positions at WatchGuard Technologies, Cisco Systems and Hayes Microcomputer Products.
